St Lawrence primary school, Kent

St Lawrence School have just completed Arctic Week. This involved the whole school dedicating an entire week to learning about the Arctic. They started off the week with a visit from Glenn Morris complete with polar bear and kayak. Glenn spent the day with the students talking to them about his expedition, and what he was hoping to learn.

The children spent the rest of the week taking part in various workshops: map making....

... making igloos....

.... and creating inukshuks....

They have also already made contact with their twin school in Siorapuluk and were delighted receive the following photos:

The first is Siorapuluk school - the red building to the right of the photo.

And this is the children and staff celebrating the return of the sun after four months of darkness.
